Des Moines Lincoln came out with a furious defensive effort and led 16-15 after the first quarter. The teams were tied at 29-29 at halftime.
Senior starters Caden Rehmeier and CJ Kuehl encouraged their teammates to persevere. Challenge accepted. The Indians rallied with a 40-point effort in the second half and beat Lincoln 69-56 Monday in a Class 4A substate quarterfinal at Indianola.
