On Tuesday evening the Indianola wrestlers hosted Newton in a dual meet that had been postponed from earlier in the season.
The meet began with four junior varsity matches before the lights dimmed to showcase the varsity matches. It then closed with three more JV matches.

Newton couldn’t field wrestlers in five weight classes, leaving nine matches to be resolved on the mat. The varsity meet begin at 182 lbs., with Isaiah Kellow netting 6 team points with his third-period pin followed by Walker Whalen who toughed out a 2-point win over Newton’s Owen Sanger.
At 285, Cael Crawford had his hands full going into the third period when he maneuvered his opponent onto his back and scored a fall.
Four more falls were scored as Cael Meacham (120) dropped his opponent in 5:32, Clayton Gibson (152) in 1:37, Trey Kellow (160) in 3:53 and Eli Reid (170) in 1:45. Reid was making the most of his varsity debut with that first-period pin.
