Kendall Clatt tied a 29-year-old record for 3-pointers in a game for Indianola Tuesday, sinking 10 3-pointers and scoring 30 points to lead the Indians to a 73-52 win over Newton.
Clatt tied a record set in 1992, also in a game against Newton. The record was set by Andrea Ward Krueger, Indianola Class of 1993, who was inducted into Indianola’s Athletic Hall of Fame after scoring 1,093 career points.
Indianola scored 14 3-pointers altogether, with Brynn Ortlund adding three and Emma Kluver adding one.
The Indians, were up 30-18 at the half before capturing the win to move to 10-1 on the season.
The boys also picked up a 65-37 win Tuesday.
They were up 30-22 at the half and outscored Newton and outscored Newton 35-15 to finalize the victory.
Drew Kingery led the Indians with 22 points. CJ Kuehl added 9 and Caden Rehmeier had 7.
Both teams will take on cross country rival Norwalk in Indianola on Friday.
