My dad was a dog person. He told me he had a dog when he was growing up. I am not certain, but I think that dog’s name was Lucky.

Thank you for your meditation on one thread of your family’s history. An enjoyable way to begin my day.

We are all familiar with “Dog Years” as one measure of the duration of a dog’s life: 1 year of a dog’s life equal to 7 years of a human life.

I wonder if another meaning of “Dog Years” -- focused on better understanding our human lives -- is remembering the dog who companioned us at a particular time in our lives.
