The Indianola Education Association, made up of teachers, school nurses, school counselors, and para educators made their recommendations for who would best meet the needs of Indianola’s students for the next four years.
At a time when local school board meetings are in the news for the hostilities expressed by some, we appreciate so many stepping up to seek an elected position. We are happy to have three candidates for school board who are interested in a broad range of issues and have ideas about how to improve and enhance our education community, not tear it apart. Decisions made by the school board impact the educational experiences of thousands of students now and for decades to come. We need to elect candidates that are not motivated by one short term issue to serve on our Indianola CSD Board of Directors.
The Indianola Education Association is recommending support for the following candidates seeking a position on the Indianola Community School District Board of Directors:
Aaron Labertew
Clemente Love
Nick Mahlstadt
We encourage voters to elect Aaron Labertew, Clemente Love, and Nick Mahlstadt to the three open seats. We believe this team will advocate for all students and public-school employees and work to steer our district in the right direction.
Elections will be held on Tuesday, November 2, 2021.
