Robert C. Snyder

Robert C. Snyder was born February 19, 1934. His parents were Mildred and Loren Snyder. The last days of his journey from Earth to Heaven were spent with family surrounding him with love.

Bob passed away peacefully at home on April 27, 2021. Bob was married to Nancy Gardner on December 12, 1953 and they were blessed with one daughter; Lori (Steve) Pope, two grandsons; John Pope (Allison Lyons) and Ian (Kacie) Pope, two great-granddaughters; Jemma and Sunny Pope.

Bob started an early career in baking while in high school and after graduation from Indianola High School, remained in that field of work. After his service time in the Army he continued in bakeries and became the head baker for Dahl’s stores. He designed and opened both bakeries in the two stores that Dahl’s opened in Kansas City area. He also served on the Dahl’s Board of Directors.

Bob took an early retirement to enjoy more time with family, service to his church (Windsor Presbyterian), and to enjoy fishing on God’s created lakes in Iowa, Minnesota, and Canada. He had a passion for gardening, and also enjoyed woodworking.

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings. Bob’s wife and family, his church family, his friends and fishing buddies will miss his smile, humor, and his presence in their lives. God called him home.

The family will have a private graveside service. A celebration of life service will be held at a later date at Windsor Presbyterian Church. Memorials may be given to Windsor Presbyterian Church in his memory.
