Nathan was born on November 12, 1980 in Des Moines, Iowa to Jon Luethje and Judith (Vander Plaats) de Vries. He graduated from DMACC with an Associate of Arts degree. He loved drinking coffee and was certainly a coffee connoisseur. Nathan was a student of all things Israeli. He was fascinated by their religion and culture. It was his dream to visit Israel and experience their culture first-hand.

Nathan also had a great passion for music, owning many instruments that many would consider unique or even strange. Nathan’s unique tastes could be seen in his collection of canes, hats, vests, suits, and artwork.

Nathan is survived by his children; Elijah, Josiah, Amaris, Isaac, Bastion, Jasper, and Simon, his parents; Jon Luethje and Judith deVries, brothers; Matthew and Micah, his grandmother Jean Hofstee, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Nathan was preceded in death by his grandparents; Rev. Gerrit and Frieda Vander Plaats, and Elmer and Marjorie Luethje, nephew Isaiah, niece Isabelle, and uncle Robert Vander Plaats.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made directly to the family.
