Services for Marvin DeGoey, 90, of Pleasantville, who passed away Friday, July 12, 2019, in Des Moines, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 17, at the Indianola First Baptist Church, burial will follow in the I.O.O.F. Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Indianola, IA

He is survived by his wife, Junella; children, Karla (Darrell) Labertew and Lyle (Reeca) DeGoey; grandchildren, Ryan (Christie) Labertew, Holly DeGoey, Ashten (Rob) Hayes, Chauncee (Jimmy) Hyde, Kristine Labertew; great-grandchildren, Faith and Noah Labertew, Jantz Hyde, Payton Houseman; siblings, Carl (Joyce) DeGoey, Ryk (Jan) DeGoey, Joi (Lou) Van Der Hart; many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Cornelius and Caroline DeGoey; siblings, Doretha Sneller, Thelma Boertje, Cornelius DeGoey Jr; parents-in-law, Henry and Dorothy DeZwarte.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 16 at Overton Funeral Home where family will be present to greet friends from 5 to 8 p.m.

Memorials can be made in Marvin’s name to St. Jude’s Hospital and the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund. The family would like to express their appreciation to all of their friends and family for their thoughts and prayers during this time.
