The Indianola Community Tree Committee and Indianola Parks and Recreation Department are hosting a speaker on Tuesday, March 24, at 6:30 pm at the Indianola Activity Center, 2204 W 2nd Ave. in Indianola. Emma Hanigan is the State Urban Forester with the Iowa Department of Natural Resources and she will be speaking on the benefits of community trees. This topic is important as we have several insect and disease issues that are currently affecting our urban trees. This event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be provided. There is no pre-registration required.
