Tom Krapfl earned a trip to the state golf meet, shooting a 75 at Tuesday's district golf meet at Copper Creek to lead Indianola to seventh place in the 13-member district meet.

Krapfl was the only Indianola golfer to place in the top 20 at the meet, which was won by Southeast Polk, who shot 315 as a team. The Rams were followed by West Des Moines Valley at 318, Ames at 324, Ottumwa at 326, Urbandale at 328, Johnston at 336 and Indianola at 340.

Des Moines Lincoln, Roosevelt, Hoover and Mason City, Des Moines North and Des Moines East rounded out the teams at the meet.

Other golfers for Indianola finished as follows: Jackson Bishop, 85; Max Trembly, 90; Casey Daughenbaugh, 95; Gabe Zwanziger, 91 and Preston Bily, 90.

The state golf tournament will be Friday and Saturday, Oct. 11 and 12, at Polk City with a 10:30 a.m. shotgun start on Friday and a 9 a.m. shotgun start on Saturday, weather permitting.
