Indianola Rotary marks 100 years

Steve Wieneke, district governor, was on hand to help celebrate Indianola Rotary's 100th birthday, which included recognizing Paul Harris Fellows. Paul Harris Fellows have given $1,000 or more to support Rotary. Those honored Thursday included, from left, Pat O'Meara, recognized as a Paul Harris plus one; Doug Bylund, Indianola parks and recreation, who was named an honorary Paul Harris Fellow for his dedication to the community; and Earl Butler, who is designing and building a disc golf course at McCord Park, Rotary's 100th anniversary project. Club president Paul Dalluge and past president Michael Kleene presented the awards.

Chris Bertelson of the Rotary Club of Winterset presented the Indianola club with 100 happy dollars to celebrate the club's 100th birthday. Happy dollars are how the club celebrates fellowship, humor and pride in its milestones, explained Sergeant at arms Todd Kielkopf.
