The application deadline for the Small Business Recovery Grant program has been extended to 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, May 31.

The city of Indianola worked with Peoples Bank, TruBank and the Warren County Economic Development to create a local pool of money to help support local businesses, while the Greater Des Moines Partnership will contribute $1 per capita, donating about $14,700 to the program.

Indianola’s total grant fund will be $56,780.60.

Warren County will offer $73,622 in grants as well, according to Rachel Gocken at Warren County Economic Development, including $55,000 provided by Warren County and $18,622 from the Greater Des Moines Partnership.

Norwalk and Carlisle also have grant programs of their own.

The grant program will be available for sole-proprietors or businesses with 0 – 30 FTE (at time of application) that have had restrictions placed on their operations due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Small businesses are also encouraged to apply for Paycheck Protection Program funding, in addition to the Small Business Recovery Grant.

Applications for the fund can be found here.
