Jared Overmann, 16, of rural Ackworth, shows off a Sapphire Gem chicken, a possible entry in the Warren County Fair 4-H poultry competition.

At the Warren County Fair 4-H poultry show, birds of a feather flock together — in more ways than one.

Jared Overmann, 16, an incoming junior at Indianola High School, holds a young Muscovy duck, possibly one of Overmann's 4-H entries at the Warren County Fair. Overmann is a member of the Shooting Stars 4-H Club, which dad Marty Overmann leads.

A pair of Muscovy ducks meander the Ackworth farm of Marty and Kathy Overmann, whose son, Jared, shows poultry at the Warren County Fair. The Muscovy breed is native to Central and South America, the drakes developing a red, crinkly head once mature.
