Early in the morning, before the sunrise, you see a beautiful bird building a nest. You notice the bird is very tired. As the sun begins to rise the bird stretches toward the sun. The beautiful bird, with feathers a beautiful hues of gold and red, sings a haunting melody. Suddenly a spark falls from heaven and ignites a fire that consumes the bird and nest. But in three days, the Phoenix rises from the ashes and is more beautiful than ever.
Just like the Phoenix, many people experience a mental illness, which can seem overwhelming. But just as the Phoenix rises from the ashes, those who have a mental illness can also rise and be more beautiful than before.
The Phoenix Center is a place where those who have a mental illness, can come and find the support and fellowship to rise from the effects of their mental illness into a life of recovery and resiliency.
