What Lies Between Us

The “What LIES Between Us” 5-week group study will guide us through a foundation of race education. For many of us, race conversations are taboo because we were told not to see color or race. Color blindness leaves us fearful in actively dismantling racism. How can you address it if you can’t have informed discourse?

Dan Berry, originally from Indianola, and a Simpson College Alumni, is a Certified Instructor for the What LIES Between Us group study. He has been a pastor for 40 years at Cornerstone Family Church in Des Moines, Iowa; one of the most diverse congregations in the state. He recently released his first book, Navigating Diversity in Our Most Segregated Hour, available at Pageturners Bookstore in Indianola. You can contact Dan through his website at www.bridgebuildingsolutions.com

This group study is not Christian based and offers an introduction into racism in a very relaxed and easy environment. This program was created by Lucretia Carter Berry, Co-founder of Brownicity: Many Hues. One Humanity.

The group study begins, Tuesday, August 11th and runs for five consecutive Tuesday evenings, through September 8th, 7:00-8:30 pm. It will be held at Annelise Winery, 15110 Hwy. 92, Indianola. The venue will allow us to social distance easily. Masks are optional, but recommended, if social distancing is not possible. You’ll enjoy the presentation, conversation and setting.
